LABORATORIES

The college provides well-equipped and modern laboratories to ensure effective practical training for students. Each lab is designed to simulate real clinical environments, helping students develop hands-on skills, confidence, and accuracy in nursing procedures.

Child Health / Paediatric Nursing Laboratory

The Paediatric Lab is designed to train students in child healthcare and development. This laboratory is well equipped with advanced paediatric simulators, infant and child mannequins, neonatal resuscitation and paediatric CPR simulators, incubator models, radiant warmers, phototherapy units, infant weighing machines, paediatric beds and cradles, oxygen delivery systems, suction apparatus, nebulizers, infusion and syringe pumps, feeding tubes, vaccination models, growth monitoring charts, paediatric assessment tools, and various teaching models and charts related to child health nursing. The lab also includes audio-visual aids and simulation-based learning equipment to facilitate training in paediatric emergency management and critical care scenarios.

Nutrition Laboratory

The Nutrition Laboratory is well equipped with modern facilities such as gas stoves with centralized gas connection, refrigerators, microwave ovens, mixers, weighing machines, measuring jars, stainless steel and ceramic utensils, cooking vessels, storage containers, and various kitchen appliances required for food preparation and diet planning. Charts, food models, and nutrition education materials are also available for teaching purposes. Students are trained in the preparation and serving of balanced and therapeutic diets for various disease conditions and learn menu planning, food hygiene, recipe modification, and preparation of special diets according to patient needs. The laboratory enhances practical skills and competency in nutrition and diet care.

Pre-clinical science laboratory

The Preclinical Science Laboratory is well equipped with anatomical models, skeleton systems, organ models, microscopes, slides, specimen jars, laboratory glassware, centrifuge machines, incubators, autoclaves, pathology specimens, microbiology culture materials, charts, and audio-visual teaching aids to support practical learning in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Pathology. Students gain hands-on experience in anatomy identification, microscopic examination, specimen observation, and basic laboratory techniques, thereby enhancing scientific understanding, observational skills, and practical competency for clinical nursing education and patient care practice.

Nursing Foundation Laboratory

The Nursing Foundation Laboratory is a standardized practical training unit that helps students develop competency and confidence in basic nursing care and comprehensive clinical practice skills. In this laboratory, students learn and practice essential nursing procedures under the guidance of teachers. The lab is well equipped with mannequins, simulators, hospital beds with mattresses, charts, models, nursing instruments, and various clinical articles required for patient care procedures to provide hands-on experience. The laboratory provides a simulated clinical environment that enhances psychomotor skills, communication, critical thinking, and professional competence, thereby preparing students to enter the actual hospital environment with confidence and efficiency.

Community Health Nursing Laboratory

The Community Health Nursing Laboratory is designed to train students in community-based healthcare practices and public health services. The lab is equipped with charts, posters, models, health education materials, puppets, family folders, community bags, and modified home visit kits containing articles required for various community procedures and health assessments. Students learn home visiting techniques, community assessment, family care, health education, and preventive healthcare practices. The laboratory also helps students organize projects, exhibitions, medical camps, and mass health education programmes to provide comprehensive healthcare services to rural and urban communities. It enhances students’ communication skills, leadership qualities, and competency in delivering effective community healthcare services.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Maternity) Laboratory

The OBG lab is well equipped with advanced maternal and neonatal simulators, birthing simulators, obstetrical mannequins, pelvic models, fetal skull models, palpation modules, episiotomy and suturing models, newborn care mannequins, breastfeeding models, intrauterine device models, fetal heart sound simulators, delivery sets, neonatal resuscitation equipment, infant warmers, fetal Doppler’s, CTG monitor demonstrations, suction apparatus, oxygen delivery systems, and various charts and teaching models and specimens related to obstetrics and gynaecology. Through simulation-based learning and practical experience, students strengthen their skills in antenatal, intranatal, postnatal, and newborn care procedures under expert supervision, thereby promoting excellence in midwifery and women’s health nursing practice.

Computer Laboratory

The Computer Laboratory is spacious and well equipped with modern computer systems, high-speed internet connectivity, Wi-Fi facilities, printers, scanners, multimedia projectors, audio-visual aids, educational software, and e-learning resources to support academic and research activities. UPS and power backup facilities ensure uninterrupted learning. Students utilize the lab for online learning, seminars, presentations, assignments, and research activities, thereby developing computer literacy, documentation, communication, and technological skills essential for professional nursing practice.

Audio-Visual (AV) Aids Laboratory

The Audio-Visual Aids Laboratory is designed to enhance the teaching and learning process by making education more effective, interactive, and interesting. The lab is fully equipped with modern educational devices such as LCD projectors, overhead projectors, televisions, DVD/CD players, tape recorders, multimedia systems, microphones, smart boards, bulletin boards, flannel boards, charts, models, and other teaching aids. These facilities provide high-tech educational media that support effective classroom teaching, presentations, demonstrations, seminars, and interactive learning experiences for students and faculty members.

Sports laboratory

The Sports is designed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, teamwork, and overall personality development among our nursing students. The laboratory is well equipped with treadmills, exercise cycles, dumbbells, yoga mats, skipping ropes, badminton rackets, volleyballs, basketballs, footballs, cricket kits, table tennis equipment, chess boards, carrom boards, athletic materials, and other indoor and outdoor sports accessories for physical exercise, yoga, recreational activities, and sports training, helping students maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce stress.

Advanced Nursing/Simulations laboratory

The Simulation Laboratory enhances clinical learning by providing hands-on training in a safe and controlled environment, helping students build confidence, improve decision-making skills, and achieve professional excellence in patient care. The Simulation Laboratory is equipped with high-fidelity simulators, adult and pediatric mannequins, maternal and neonatal simulators, CPR mannequins, patient monitors, ventilator models, ECG machines, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, defibrillators, suction apparatus, oxygen delivery systems, airway management devices, IV therapy equipment, crash carts, hospital beds, and other emergency care instruments. Audio-visual systems and computer-assisted simulation technologies are also available to conduct realistic patient care scenarios and evaluation sessions.
